Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and driven WordPress Web Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of WordPress development principles and demonstrate expertise in custom theme, plugin, and API creation. This role demands both technical acumen and a collaborative spirit as you’ll work with designers, project managers, and other developers to enhance existing projects and implement innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Custom WordPress Development:
- Design and develop visually appealing, highly functional WordPress themes that align with our design standards and project requirements.
- Create well-structured, custom WordPress plugins to extend website capabilities and address specific business needs.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing WordPress implementations for performance and stability.
- Maintain, update, and improve deployed WordPress websites ensuring security and compatibility.
- API Development and Integration:
- Architect and implement robust RESTful APIs within WordPress, facilitating seamless data exchange with mobile applications, external systems, and other platforms.
- Prioritize API security, performance, and scalability throughout the development process.
- Team Collaboration and Project Execution:
- Collaborate effectively with designers, project managers, and fellow developers to translate project requirements into working solutions.
- Proactively propose plugin development strategies and integration approaches to ensure project success.
- Adhere to coding best practices and maintain comprehensive documentation for projects.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of demonstrated professional experience in WordPress development.
- In-depth knowledge of WordPress core concepts, the theme system, plugin architecture, and template hierarchy.
- Mastery of PHP, HTML5, CSS3 (including preprocessors like Sass/LESS), and JavaScript/jQuery.
- Proven track record of creating and modifying custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Solid experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs, with a strong understanding of authentication and authorization principles.
- Proficiency in version control systems (Git).
- Exceptional problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and time management.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with popular WordPress frameworks or page builders (e.g., Elementor, Divi, etc.).
- Working knowledge of React.js or similar modern front-end frameworks.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Portfolio Requirement:
